Horsing around: Teen queen Miley Cyrus goes for equestrian fashion for a gig in New York City — Source: Dailymail Online

Dressed in tight white jeans, black boots and a riding hat, you’d be forgiven for thinking Miley Cyrus was going horseriding in the country.

Instead, the 15-year-old star wore the equestrian-inspired outfit to perform to thousands of fans at an outdoor concert in New York City.

The Hannah Montana singer/actress was up bright and early this morning to perform in the Rockefeller Plaza on U.S. live morning programme Today Show.

In a scene reminiscent of Beatle-mania in the 1960s, screaming ‘tweens’ were kept back from Miley and her dancers by crash barriers.

Miley belted out tracks from her latest album Breakthrough, including 7 Things and See You Again, much to the delight of her ecstatic fans. To read the full article and view the outstanding photographs of her current fashionable outfit from the concert click here.

Here is heart-warming story from Susan Langenhennig, Staff writer for The Times-Picayune that we felt most readers would enjoy.

It’s been a Cinderella-like spring for Hillary Clinton.

No, not that one.

Clinton, an 18 year old who just finished her junior year at Ben Franklin High School in New Orleans, was the winner of a recent TeenVogue contest for a $10,000 prom makeover for her school. Her one-paragraph entry scored 4,710 votes from magazine readers.

Super delegates weren’t needed, but a Facebook.com page set up by a friend did help drum up support.

A student of creative writing at the New Orleans Center for the Creative Arts, Clinton didn’t have to do much campaigning on behalf of her school. Franklin’s Phoenix-from-the-ashes-of-Katrina comeback makes for a compelling narrative and a deserving makeover recipient.  Click here to read full story.

Shorts are not just for the beach or for lounging around at home. Once again, they are in vogue and here’s how to wear them best.

FASHION is rarely original. In fact, a lot of trends are like Halley’s Comet, making repeated comebacks with each new generation. Case in point: the return of shorts as a fashion trend.

In the 1970s they were cutely called hot pants, the successor to the miniskirt, and were a huge rage. That was followed by a revival in the 1980s. More than 20 years on, shorts are hot again this season, with major fashion labels offering grown-up and glamorised remakes.

In the entertainment industry, shorts have long had an illustrious presence – Raquel Welch and Brigitte Bardot were among the sex sirens who drove the guys crazy by squeezing themselves into tight, little and oh-so-hot pants in the 1970s. This time, it is the likes of Jessica Simpson who have helped bring shorts back in vogue.  Click here to read on…

The Academy of Cinema and Television staff covering LA Fashion Week say that next autumn we can expect more bold colors, as well as masculine-inspired clothing for teens and women.

According to a mention in NYmag.com, toward the end of Fashion Week, Amy Larocca crossed paths with Mary Kate Steinmiller, an editor at Teen Vogue. A Fashion Week veteran, Steinmiller claims that “you don’t even realize you’re going from show to show because there’s so much adrenaline.” Source:NYmag.com

One LA Times reporter was not at all impressed by many of the models this year. Reporter Erin Weinger titled the story “Some amateur-hour meoments at L.A.’s rowdy runways.”  Maybe the reporter might have felt differently if the shoe were on the other foot and had to make quick clothing changes for one of the many over-styled outfits shown this year. Many were more like theatrical costumes than what is generally considered traditional high-fashion.

The Hilton family all turned out in support of Nicky Hilton’s high-end Nicholai line.
