Student News, Talent Agents

Academy of Cinema and Television’s Ashley Wolff signed by talent agency The staff at the Academy of Cinema and Television are always thrilled when they receive outstanding news about student successes.

When an email came in from student Ashley Wolff’s dad, Dustin Wolff – a mortgage loan consultant in Phoenix, the entire office was a buzz. Here is his note to Director Jack White: “, we can’t believe how far she has come in just eight weeks! We can tell a big difference in her auditioning skills from when she first started, and her confidence level has greatly improved. Ashley recently signed an exclusive contract with S.I.M. Agency in their modeling/print division, she is very excited and can’t wait to see where it takes her!”

Dustin And Stephanie Wolff have good reason to be proud of their daughter’s success. Getting signed on an exclusive contract with S.I.M Agency is certainly news worth celebrating. We hope to hear more about Ashley in the months to come…

Chandler Fausett, Satellite StudentChandler Fausette signed by KnightStar Talent Mgmt

Academy of Cinema and Television Satellite students are often auditioned by the talent scouts and talent agencies in their specific city or area. Liz Knight was invited to such an audition. At the audition, she was impressed with Chandler.

According to an e-mail we received recently from Chandler, he will soon be appearing in a Disney Channel production called The American Mall. Here is what Chandler told us:

“I had an interview today with Liz Knight. I’m in her agency now. She wants me to start as an extra and then in a few months she wants me to start real acting, so I’m pretty happy right now. I will be on a Disney Channel show called “The American Mall.”

Liz Knight is the Agency Director and owner of KnightStar Talent Mgmt. She has been in business for over 8 years as a Talent Scout, Agent, Extras Coordinator, and Agency Director. Her agency represents Actors, Voiceover Talent, Models, and Extras. KnightStar Talent Mgmt. is based in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Since Chandler is one of our Satellite students we are anxious to receive up-dated professional photos of him and learn how he is progressing. Be sure and check back here in the future for another update on Chandler’s progress.

Talent Agents

While to everyone seriously involved in the performing arts, it may seem like a no-brainer when we suggest that auditioning talent always be polite and respectful to agents, whether or not you agree with the way they handle their business.  The industry, coast to coast, isn’t that big, and most agents are well-connected and often touch base with one another.

Leaving a bad impression with one legitimate talent agent can destroy your reputation with others.  And, as logic may tell you, if you make a good impression an agent, whether or not you win a role for a specific project, he/she may recommend you to colleagues — if not immediately, possibly one day in the future when a different project triggers a memory of you and right you may be for a part.

You may not realize it, but many talent agents are creative people as well.  Also keep in mind, while they may seem hurried and preoccupied in an audition setting, they are used to the audition process and will remember more about you than you may think.  And, last but not least, remember that being respectful and professional in all you do establishes you as someone anyone would want to work with.
